Sofie's operation .........
On December 5, Sofie went to our GP to have her ears checked out (a routine check always done 3 weeks after a middle ear infection). She was automatically referred to an ear-nose-throat specialist who decided that she needed to have an operation done on her ears to remove all the puss behind her ear drums and also to place small 'Grommets' in each of the ear drums. These will help Sofie equilibrating pressure on both sides of her ear drum which she has a problem doing at the moment.
The operation was scheduled for December 14, which was ideal as the operation and the check could be completed before Christmas and our vacation in Norway (at altitude which aggravates the condition).
Three days prior to her operation Sofie had relapse of her middle ear infection.

In this photo one can see Sofie on her way to 'vagtlægen' (Sat, December 12) at the Hospital in Amager. We kept our finger crossed and hoped that her operation wouldn't be cancelled.

The situation seemed even more aggravated Sunday morning as can be seen here so we again headed off to the Hospital 'vagtlægen'.

Luckily her temperature fell late Sunday so Monday morning at 7.oo am after a fasting for 6 hours we got Sofie prepared. Her she is insisting we take 'Kaninus' as well.

It was really tough seeing Sofie be fully anesthetized and Mum cried. Luckily the procedure went really well and we could sit with her while she slowly came to.
In this photo she has just opened her eyes crawled into Mums arms.

.......... enjoying the comfort of Dads arms.

They suggested we walk her home in her pram to give her lots of fresh air. She fell asleep on the 30 minute walk.

After sleeping 2 hours Sofie awoke and unfortunately her fever was high and she started vomiting again. Her she is trying to keep her chin up. Notice the bear she has in the videos. This was a present from the Doctor after she awoke.

...... Sofie still has a sore throat as can be heard here
After a very sleepless night for Mum and Dad they were both exhausted but very relieved as Sofie's temperature was finally 36.3!! Here she is eating some breakfast.
Her walk is still a little wobbly but her Doctor says her balance should quickly improve.
Later that day Sofie looked much more confident walking.
Sofie loves sorting Mums tea bags
..... and playing with her blocks
