The first weekend of advent and Christmas celebrations at Sofie's daycare

Christmas is getting closer and we celebrated the first weekend of advent with Christmas parties and a lovely hand made present (An Elf) from Grandma/-pa for Sofie.

The Elf.

After breakfast we walked to Sofie's Daycare center to attend the Christmas celebrations. We started outside lighting the Christmas tree and singing songs while we danced around the tree. Then played a little after which we went inside to eat home made bread (baked by the Center leader Bjarne), glögg (for the adults) ....

Slippery slide ....

..... more walking!

It's been a busy week. Sofie is getting better at walking and also loves walking around the flat kicking her football. She has also started talking ALOT. Check out the videos below.

The first weeks of November

On the first weekend of November we had a brief visit from Luna, below are a few photos and videos.

Sofie and Luna on the floor.

Sofie loves dancing and her moves are advancing.

Luna quickly found out that if she hung around Sofie at lunch time something would fall sooner or later.

More dancing...

On the second weekend we visited Ulrik, Anne and Anders to celebrate Ulriks 40th birthday. Anders has doubled his birth weight now and is getting very strong. Below are a few photos of the evening and also the next day at home.

Sofie helps Ulrik open his present from us which was a book on the Science and history of Sushi written by one of Hans' colleagues.

The dinner table looked beautiful, notice the table decorations made by Annes' mum from her own garden.

Sofie eating rice wirh safarin and a meat sauce!
For more photos of the evening click here.

The next day Sofie and mum went to the play ground in the courtyard.

Sofie spends most of her time up-right now and walks with the support of anything in sight. Here she uses the slippery slide.

Sofie has started talking and in this video the second 'hi' is actually Sofie.

Walkimg seems pretty close now.

Some wobbly steps caught on video.

One can see that Sofie has her fathers eyes in these two photos.

Tomorrow Dad leaves for a 1 week meeting with the Danish Medical Council. In this photo he poses beside the boxes of fund applications he has read through during the past months.

Whilst Hans was away. Grandma/-pa visited and they made a advents present calender for Sofie. Here is Sofie checking out the presents after Baba hung them up.

Sofie swimming with a floatie on. Mostly she swims backwards!

Rolly polly .... Sofie isn't afraid of water at all and even though she floats around independently we always keep a close eye on her!

The last 2 weeks of October

The last two weeks of autumn have been dominated by coughs, runny noses and high temperatures ...... Sofie seems to be bringing home her fair share of viruses and bacteria and it seems at least one of us is sick at all times. Sofie turned 14 months on October 20 but hasn't cracked the walking code yet. Below are a few photos and videos of the last weeks of October.

The last Friday in October Mum (and Sofie's) mothers group met for the second time without their babies. Coffee and cake were substituted with red wine, beer and snacks. It was a great night.

All four of us.

Rebecca and Anne-Dorthe.

Sofie playing with mega blocks and a little dancing - Sofie just loves to rock

She has also worked out how to get her 4 small cars to move!

Hammering onto pegs still needs some more work :)

After a week Sofie still had fever and she didn't seem to get better over the weekend so we took her to the doctor on Monday and we found out she had a middle ear and throat infection. This photo was taken the day after. Her fever had dropped but she still hadn't gotten her wonderful appetite back. However at lunchtime she did eat half a banana and some bread.

Sofie has a Brio dog she is very good at assembling now.

Sofie is now good at clinking glasses to say cheers or 'skål'

Sofie's new front facing isofix child seat arrived today. It was a christening present from Grandma and Grandpa and she had finally grown too long for the old seat.
