New sounds and Sofie's grandparents on a weeks visit

Sofie learns some new sounds!

Today mum taught Sofie the brr brr sound! She caught on really quickly

Grandma and grandpa visited this week and taught Sofie to indicate how big she is with her arms

They also practiced saying 'tak' (thank you), which she now says when we give her something.

Grandma/-pa took Sofie on daily walks to visit the swans.

Sofie continues to practice walking.

Meeting Jonaton

Wednesday September 16, 2009

Today Sofie gets to meet Jonaton who is 5 weeks old. We all met at Zorana's apartment as Jonatons Dad was ill and we couldn't meet there.

A photo of Jonaton and his Mum (Rikke).

Jonaton seemed a little nervous whilst lying on Kirtsen's lap.

Then it was time for some cake.

Zorana and Filip who is 12 weeks older than Sofie.

Below are two videos of Sebastian, Filip and Sofie. These three spent some time together (yoga and mothers group) when they were younger but couldn't recognise each other.

Below are some of the videos of Sofie earlier that day in play group.

Saying goodbye to Luna

The week flew by very quickly and on Saturday it was time to say goodbye to Luna whose next stop was Jutland. Sofie really misses her soft furry coat. I think she feels like Luna is a big teddy bear. Below are some videos of our trip to Fynen where we met Dads parents who are looking after Luna this week.

We arrived 30 minutes earlier than Grandma/-pa which gave us ample opportunity to play in the playground. Check out the 5 vidoes below.

Luna is pretty old now so we were surprised that she recognised and warmly welcomed Hans' parents when they arrived.

We all had lunch together and in this video Sofie is finger wrestling with Dad who she feels never feeds her fast enough!

Sunday September 13, 2009.
We spent the day relaxing and Dad had to work a little. Mum and Sofie started the day having a nice walk in the beautiful September autumn weather. As can be seen in this photo Sofie wanted to keep an eye on Mum but also managed a quick 40 minute power nap.

Sofie's walking has now progressed further. When she gets stuck she now turns around and waits for one of us to turn her Chariot instead of just sitting down. See these 2 videos.

We dropped off some plants at my office 'The Cancer Research Society' and Sofie got a ride in the post trolley.

Sofie has a great appetite and here she eats corn on the cob.

'Goodnight Baby Einstein' is one of Sofie's favourites, just look at her face as she watches the puppets go to sleep.

Another busy week for Sofie

Ever since Mum started back at work things at home seem flat out. I surprisingly really enjoy getting back to work BUT it is difficult juggling this with being a full time house mum as well. Luckily daycare seems to be getting less and less tiring for Sofie so it's fun seeing her so happy when we get home in the afternoons. Well hopefully we'll all soon get used to our new routines.

This week we started the week with a quick visit to Jutland on Sunday

Sofie and mum took the two hour train ride to meet Hans and Grandma and Granddad there for lunch. In this photo Sofie sits in her back-pack while we wait for the express train to arrive at the station.

Sofie eating some banana on the train ride. She was actually like a bag of worms on this trip which kept Mum pretty busy. Makes one appreciate how lucky we were as she behaved so perfectly on our recent long flight to California.

Sofie dances now when we play music. This is often VERY entertaining

Hopla with Granddad.

On the way home from Jutland we picked up Luna as we are dog-sitting her this week. Sofie really enjoys having Luna here and its fun seeing her trying to interact (see videos below).
Just look at the way Sofie admires Luna. It is as though she has never seen something that beautiful......

...... unfortunately the feeling of adoration aren't mutual and Luna spends most of her time trying to avoid Sofie's adoring gaze and sometimes not so tender touch.

Our friends Ulrik and Anne had a little baby boy on Saturday so Monday after work we visited them at the hospital. Here Ulrik is opening the wooden fire engine we gave them. Its for the baby when he is a little older.
For more photos of the baby check out Ulrik and Annes homepage here.

It was amazing for us to think that one year ago our Sofie was this small. Check out how tiny the little baby face is compared to Sofie.

We have loosened the brakes on Sofies 'push-car' and now she walks even faster....

More family birthday celebrations

On the last weekend in August the Danish side of the family came to Copenhagen to visit. This is really rare as we usually all meet in Jutland so we had lots of reason to celebrate.

Sofie received more wonderful presents and this 'walker' was amongst them. A great present from Grandma/-pa

We spent Saturday morning walking up to the top of 'Frelsenskirke' tower

Saturday afternoon we all went to the sports ground to watch Oliver compete in soccer. In this photo he is in blue and white to the far left.

A close-up of Sofie.

Patrick, Oliver and Sofie.

Then it was time to open more presents.

On Sunday we all went to the harbour for the last swim of the season. Water temperatures were 18 degrees celsius!

...... Dad tried as well.

After a quick dip the three boys bought ice-cream.
