A Danish heatwave and getting prepared for 3 weeks in California

Summer had arrived in Denmark whilst we were away in Iceland and it was really hot.

Mum & dad swam in the harbor and as can be seen here Sofie paddled in her bath tub.

Sofie and another little girl playing in the doctors waiting room. They looked so grown up sitting at their small table!

Vroom vroom ...... Sofie follows mum and dad in her car whilst they go shopping for groceries.

Sofie and mum checking out the aquarium in the shopping center.

Sofie is getting better and better at picking up small pieces of food and putting them in her mouth.

We had a tough weekend as Sofie has started her asthma medicine which meant sleepless nights due to coughing attacks. However, she was in quite good form Sunday evening after sleeping most of the day and we got a visit from Line and Martin. Sofie is just crazy about Line. In this photo they are giving each other a Greenlandic kiss by rubbing noses. This is something Sofie loves doing.

Check out how well Sofie can throw the ball to dad.

On Tuesday night Lars Hug was playing in the 'Jazz Festival by the Sea' we really like him but couldn't go with Sofie. Instead we did a walk along the harbour around the time the concert started and listened a little whilst we played with Sofie in a park.

The sea-saw for small children was a hit

On July 9, Sofie moved forwards instead of backwards for the first time. Check out the alternative technique she has!!

We try to incorporate Sofie's inhalation mask into our play time. In this photo Winnie the Pooh has the mask on and this made Sofie laugh. Dad and mum also place the mask onto each others face so Sofie becomes curious about it.

Sofie gets to study the mask as well.

We have removed the rug from Sofie's bedroom as recommended. Her new plat mat can be used for many things. In this photo we have spelled out her name.

Our last weekend before heading off to California was spent doing some major alterations to mum & dads bedroom. This included an elevation bed, wall to wall closets, desk and TV!!!

In this photo Sofie is trying out the first module of the new closet for comfort.

Mum found an organic free range chicken that she baked for dad & Sofie. In this photo Sofie is cleaning off a drum stick!! Notice how much hair she now has and it's curly just like her mum's was when she was a baby. See the black & white photo below.

Sofie hasn't really started crawling properly as she still reminds us of a crab with a hangover but she has begun lifting herself up on all of our furniture as can be seen in these two shots.
Sofie is responding very well to the new inhalation therapy and is now symptom free with now coughs or wheezing whilst awake or asleep. She is much more alert, active and needs less naps during the day.

Sofie's passion for books is amazing she enjoys her touch and feel books more and more and also loves her bedtime story of 'Winnie the Pooh and friends.

As can be seen in this video Sofie has much more energy now and no wheezing while she exerts herself.

Check out the size of the sandwiches Sofie now digs into at lunch time. She just loves black bread with warmed liver paté.

All our morning and evening meals are spent on our verandas. Great. In this photo Sofie is being feed oatmeal porridge with homemade stewed apple. YUM. Mum and dad actually like this as well and on the weekends we often all eat porridge.

Sofie is ready for the trip now. When you ask Sofie how tall she is she lifts her arms in the air!!
